**Limited-term position based in Mobile, AL with work in Mississippi**
The School of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Aquatic Sciences at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Administrator I, Outreach Programs stationed off-campus at the AU Marine Extension and Research Center located in Mobile, Alabama.
The successful candidate will work primarily in Mississippi and be responsible for developing and growing the Mississippi oyster restoration/public education project Oyster Gardening.
Duties will include, but not be limited to, recruiting volunteers, maintaining a volunteer base of oyster gardeners in Mississippi, creating and delivering educational materials and opportunities for program participants which include area high school classes involved in the program as well as adult participants.
The individual selected for the position will be expected to assist in grant writing for project continuation and maintain appropriate records for current grant requirements.
This is an Extension project management and development position where the successful candidate will work independently to meet project objectives with support from the project PI.
**This is a two year limited term position and is funded from external sources.
Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.
Note that while the salary will fall within the range stated, it will be limited based on available funds.
** The minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Biology, Fisheries, Environmental Science, or closely related field at the time of hire.
Excellent written, communication and computer skills are required.
The individual selected for the position will work hours that include occasional nights and weekends and in conditions which may be wet/muddy at times, frequent public speaking, and regular contact with authorities in Mississippi.
Must be capable of working independently and lifting up to 50 pounds during field work.
A valid driver's license is required as well as reliable transportation to sites (with mileage reimbursement.
Must be comfortable driving full sized trucks and able to complete Auburn University driver safety classes within 30 days of hire.
