Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Family Medicine is seeking board certified/board eligible physicians (Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine) for our VCU Health Urgent Care at our Tappahannock VA location, 40 miles Northeast of our main academic medical center campus located in Richmond, VA.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Clinical: Provide excellent clinical care by demonstrating proficiency in the evaluation, diagnosis and management of a wide range of acute medical and traumatic conditions. Provide efficient, high quality patient care that reflects current professional practice norms and skills and is consistent with accepted utilization guidelines.
Quality/Safety: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes; participate in quality improvement initiatives and promote patient safety and satisfaction.
Education/Research: Participate in teaching/educational programs and research initiatives as desired according to interest
Administrative: Complete all administrative functions promptly and accurately that may be required of clinical providers in the environment.
Required Qualifications:
- MD, DO or equivalent degree
- Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Virginia
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student
environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
