Job Summary

University Information Technology ( UIT) has an opening for an IT Specialist position within the Software Platform Services – Web Application Deployment & Automation team.
This position is responsible for assisting with implementing secure, highly available and scalable middle tier and web hosting infrastructure solutions

Responsibilities
  • Assists in analyzing, designing, and documenting highly available and scalable middle tier and web hosting infrastructure solutions
  • Assists in installing, validating, and maintaining highly available and scalable middle tier and web hosting infrastructure solutions
  • Designs/develops, tests, and assists in implementing automated administrative tasks related to the middle-tier and web hosting infrastructure
  • Monitors capacity and analyzes information concerning processing time, response times, application/software, CPU loads, etc. for future growth, proactively informs management of potential areas of concerns, and assists with providing capacity planning/metric reports and benefits recommendations
  • Collaborates with service owners to configure applications that meet the business needs
  • Conduct technical evaluations on new products and features and provides recommendations and directions for implementation
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation on critical processes and standards
  • On-call required

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalency or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty.
