The University of Pittsburgh’s University Educational Outreach Center (EOC) is actively seeking a Pathway Development & Outreach Coordinator committed to advancing equitable K12 pathways to college for underserved and historically underrepresented students.
Work Environment: This is a hybrid position, which will require you to split your time between the University of Pittsburgh campus and the communities we serve.
Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant experience working with K12 youth. Proficiency in software tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Additionally, you should be comfortable with engaging through social media platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent typing speed, and fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English are essential for this position. Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling you to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. Access to transportation is recommended, with the ability to travel within the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
Job Summary
Advises on and facilitates undergraduate and/or graduate certificate and related programs. Assists in policy and procedure development, oversees international outreach program, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders. Assists with implementing leadership training and development programs.
Essential Functions
As the Pathway Development & Outreach Coordinator, your primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Educational Outreach and Engagement: Devise and execute outreach initiatives aimed at attracting young scholars to our pathway programs.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the central point of contact for designated pathway programs, requiring regular interaction with various stakeholders, including youth scholars, families, school administrators, and community partners.
- Program Implementation: Oversee the effective implementation of a range of pathway programs, including INVESTING NOW, Pittsburgh Admissions Collaboration, Pittsburgh Public Scholars, and our newest addition, the Pitt Horizon Scholars.
- Program Efficacy: Ensure the effectiveness and impact of our pathway programs, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
- Program Development Support: Collaborate with the Senior Program Coordinator in conducting program needs assessments, contributing to program development, and participating in program evaluations.
- Supervision: Manage and provide guidance to student support staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
- Varied Outreach and Engagement Tasks: Complete additional outreach and engagement duties as assigned.
