ISC's HireIT Services team provides best-in-class IT service delivery in a matrix environment to more than 1200 clients across a diverse collection of campus organizations. As a member of HireIT, the IT Support Specialist provides our clients with exceptional support through HireIT inbound calls and emails as well as dispatch, and diagnoses and resolves technical problems with computing hardware, software, and network related services. This position also serves as a member of a team focusing on endpoint management and security.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities
  • Work on endpoint management and security for patch management, application updates, and operating system upgrades. Recommend service changes based on research on end user technology and working knowledge of client computing needs. Analyze and address service areas requiring remediation.
  • Establish and foster ongoing relationships with clients including client relationship management and communication with clients to keep them apprised of changes and updates. Generate and distribute regular service reports and communications.
  • Interact daily with clients who have varying levels of technical expertise and provide them with top-tier support and consulting through support of HireIT intake and dispatch. Diagnose and resolve technical problems with computing hardware, software, and network services.
  • Participate in initiatives, testing and projects undertaken by the Endpoint Team.
  • Image computers in the Endpoint queue and prepare them for deployment.
  • Participate on campus-wide project teams, task forces, and user groups. ​
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. This position might be required to work evenings and weekends on occasion.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience providing technical support for contemporary client operating systems (Macintosh and Windows) and productivity applications, preferably in an academic computing or professional services environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present technical materials clearly.
  • Organizational skills: the ability to create and keep deadlines, goal setting, and time management.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of clients and colleagues, delivering exemplary technical support and mentorship.
  • Ability and commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive materials.

  • Ability to thrive in a client-centric, technically-focused environment.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
