Job Description

The School of Medicine – Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, is seeking a highly motivated, engaged, and committed Credentialing Specialist who is interested in joining a fast-paced, highly productive team.

Our Department's service talent teams include - Attending Physicians, Fellow/Resident Physicians, Extender Practitioners, Nurses, ATC/OTCs, Clinical Administrative Coordinators, Research Faculty, Research Technical Teams, and Students. Our clinicians have clinical locations across the state of Missouri. The ideal candidate will play an instrumental role in the success of sustaining our department's mission: advance the clinical, research and teaching components of Orthopaedic at the University of Missouri.

This position will partner with clinical and research staff to support the overall culture at the School of Medicine, which fosters a fast learning and continuously improving organization to further our mission.

Position overview:
-Process new appointments and reappointments for University Hospital medical staff, Allied Healthcare, University Physicians providers and Community providers that work at MU Healthcare.
-Process new appointments and reappointments for University Hospital medical staff, Allied Healthcare, University Physicians providers that work in other Health systems.
-Assist in State and Federal medical and prescription licenses, including timely renewals.
-Manage data collection for bi-annual provider reporting.
-Manage collaborative practice agreements.

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.

One (1) year of experience confirming work history, education, training, background, and/or reference checks or similar experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with medical staff credentialing.

Certification or eligibility for certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS).

Experience with the Joint Commission (TJC), Det Norske Veritas (DNV), National Council of Quality Assurance (NCQA), and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) credentialing standards

Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $19.15 - $30.23 hourly

Grade: PAT - 006
