Job Description

This technical position is for the Application Integrations team. The team supports Columbia campus applications as well as some multi-campus applications. These applications are mission critical and are supported 24X7. Team members share an on-call schedule to handle any after-hours issues.

Team members work mostly from home although certain applications and systems require frequent visits to campuses to install, troubleshoot, or repair supported hardware. Team meetings, technical training, or other events may also require spending time on one of the campuses. Successful job candidates must be able to work effectively in a remote work environment which includes frequent use of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Bomgar, and other software. Candidates must have reliable internet access.

This position requires the ability to administer a server, operating systems, and software. It requires support and troubleshooting for a mix of commonly seen and novel user issues across multiple technologies, including desktop clients, mobile clients, scanners, web clients, receipt printers, application configuration, and server issues. Team members monitor support tickets and contribute to customer and internal team documentation.

The successful candidate will develop expertise in multiple supported applications such as CBORD CS Gold, CS Access, Oracle Simphony, GET, Fusion, EMS, and other inter-connected applications and interfaces. This job will require researching, testing, implementing, documenting, and training new users for software releases. In-depth troubleshooting will be necessary as well as cross-team collaboration with networking, server, database teams, and vendors. Creating SQL queries and script modifications is common.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Troubleshooting common and uncommon user issues as reported

· Troubleshooting register and receipt printer configurations and programming

· Documenting user and team best practices

· Assist in planning, obtaining software and hardware, testing, documenting work flows, and performing application upgrades

· Troubleshooting challenging interface issues between various campus and Enterprise applications and databases

· Creating SQL queries, modifying XML and HTML files, and creating scheduled tasks on servers and in applications

· Creating and testing advanced software configuration changes to accommodate user requests

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, with flexibility for some off-shift coverage due to maintenance and issues that may arise.

Minimum Qualifications

· Expansive knowledge of desktop/workstation hardware/software/operating systems (configuration and connectivity)

· Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of networks, network topologies, and network file servers, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques

· Two years' experience with server and application administration

· Familiarity with security principles and best practices

· Familiarity with enterprise management technology for Windows and Macintosh platforms

· Strong verbal and written communication skills sufficient to interact with a variety of users and other technical staff

· Strong customer service skills

· Energetic and enthusiastic individual that can view an application as one part of a larger enterprise

· Understand the workflow and process requirements of business units related to the application

· Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications

· Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, knowledge of analytical tools, and complex troubleshooting methods

· Ability to work through ambiguous work situations

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years Enterprise-level application and server administration experience (Linux and Windows)
• Hands-on experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills
• Adept at reading, writing and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
• Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language
• Knowledge of Shibboleth and Azure integration
• Experience with Change Management best practices
• Experience supporting on-premise integrations with Cloud applications
• Experience creating and modifying SQL queries (Oracle, Sybase, and Microsoft)
• Experience with CBORD CS Gold
• Experience with enterprise Point-of-Sale systems such as Oracle MICROS Simphony and Oracle NetSuite
• Cloud application experience with StarRez, Alertus, Rave, or Innosoft Fusion

Anticipated Hiring Range

$50,367 - $62,000Commensurate with experienceSalary Range: $51,875 - $62,000 Commensurate with experience
