RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGER
Research Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Monitor project progress against key deadlines
- Ensure stakeholder management and input
- Contribute to the overall strategic direction and focus of each project
- Ongoing grants management/reporting
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research including:
- Data collection
- Data analysis
- Writing
Skills:
- Qualitative and quantitative research skills
- High-quality writing, specifically writing up qualitative and quantitative research findings in a clear manner
- Project management skills
- Ability to work with high-level stakeholders in education and workforce
- Proficiency working with qualitative and quantitative data and organizing data into standard formats including performing data cleaning, preparation, and transformation, as necessary
- Excellent strategic analysis and problem-solving skills
- Ability to explore data to find interesting trends or relationships aligned to VOEE and partner research interests
- Familiarity with grants management and grants reporting processes (Federal-level, State-level, or third-party grants) required
- Familiarity with K-12, higher education and/or the workforce system education, labor market, and/or workforce
- Excellent proficiency in Excel model development and PowerPoint slide development, strategic analysis and problem-solving skills, and overall tech-enabled tools as a platform for strong communication and idea visualization required
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work under time pressure
- Ability to use computerized databases for project management, as requested
Education/Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in social science (economics, public policy, or political science), mathematics, data analytics, business, or a related field (preference given to economics with quantitative rigor and statistical methods coursework)
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in related field preferred education, economics, policy, sociology, etc.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible leadership and work experience working in education, economic development, competitiveness, or public policy projects required
- Work experience providing exposure to multiple projects and leadership styles, requiring detailed analytical and quantitative problem-solving
Experience Desired:
- Specific experience in K12, higher education, and/or workforce development
- Experience collecting and working with qualitative data
