Job Description:


Empire State University seeks a full-time Bilingual Enrollment and Partnership Outreach Officer (Bilingual EPOO) in the Office of Enrollment Management and Marketing. The Bilingual Enrollment and Partnership Outreach Officer (State Title: Senior Staff Assistant) manages recruitment outreach for non-degree seeking prospective students (prospects), providing guidance about our university, our course offerings, and the registration process. This position provides recruitment outreach for our Spanish Language Program prospects, applicants, and newly accepted students. The Bilingual EPOO builds strategic community relationships and is responsible for coordination of recruitment events to support enrollment. This position also provides important insights and recommendations based on their data and experience for achieving the annual enrollment goals. The Bilingual Enrollment and Partnership Outreach Officer will work to generate leads and ensure contact with individuals who have indicated an interest in Empire State University and encourages prospects to attend an information session or otherwise furthering their interest in SUNY Empire. The selected incumbent will be responsible to meet application, acceptance, and enrollment targets.

Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Create, implement, and deliver a recruitment plan that will meet application, acceptance, and enrollment targets for the Spanish Language Program.
  • Support non-degree seeking prospects by providing guidance from the point of inquiry through to registration. This will include providing guidance with course selection when requested.
  • Identify and implement processes that effectively respond to event attendees, walk ins, phone calls and CRM leads from prospective students to convert from inquiry to applicant and applicant to accepted student.
  • Utilize enrollment data to evaluate and adjust recruitment plan on an ongoing basis.
  • Schedule recruitment team meetings with regional partners across the Office of Enrollment Management.
  • Plan, participate in, and deliver information sessions that meets the need of prospective students.
  • Represent SUNY Empire at conferences and other functions as it pertains to enrollment management.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Partnerships in the stewardship of partnerships and the recruitment of students from new and existing partners. This includes providing input, data, and ideas for enrollment growth.
  • Maintain telephone and electronic contact and initiate correspondence with potential new partners and other key connections, including appropriate and consistent follow-up in coordination with the partnership office.
  • Participate in recruitment travel as needed, representing SUNY Empire at college and career fairs and conducting on-site and virtual presentations for prospective students and/or advisors. Plan and participate in on-campus and off-campus outreach events.
  • Participate in recruitment travel, representing SUNY Empire at partnership information sessions and conducting on-site and virtual presentation for prospective students from within partner organizations.
  • Consistently conduct follow-up meetings with all existing community colleges and partner organizations to ensure successful enrollment growth and strength.
  • Secure new inquiries by directly asking phone and in-person contacts about referrals of others to contact that may be interested in SUNY Empire.
  • Provide Spanish language translation assistance to the Recruitment team.

Requirements:


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in higher education, business or non-profit; related to marketing, communications, recruitment, admissions, development, or student affairs.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective listening, probing and assessment skills.
  • Experience working with data to analyze and evaluate outcomes.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in team-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • Four or more years in higher education and experience in Recruitment, Enrollment Management, Admissions or related field.
  • Experience in adult and non-traditional education.
  • Experience with CRM and other data management tools.
  • Prior knowledge of and experience in working with bilingual and emergent bilingual learners, particularly in online settings.
  • Prior experience working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Special Information:
  • May involve occasional travel to university locations across New York State.
  • Candidates must have the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Additional Information:


Rank/Salary: SL3 / $55,000-$60,000, dependent on experience and qualifications.
