Full-time Advisor/Recruiter
Description
The primary task of the Advisor/Recruiter is to promote the college in order to increase student enrollment; coordinate recruitment activities with area high schools; provide informational materials and services to prospective students, counselors, and the community at large. Provide advisement during registration, enrollment periods and throughout the year. Must adhere to a flexible work schedule and perform other job-related duties as directed by the Dean of Student Development and the President.
Salary: Appropriate placement on the Alabama Community College System Salary Schedule C3-3: (Salary range: $33,292 - $73,195)
Anticipated Start Date: November 2019
Essential Job Functions
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Promote the college to increase enrollment.
- Make contact with area principals, counselors and teachers.
- Provide information concerning the enrollment process and services to prospective students, counselors, and community at large.
- Visit all schools in service area and communicate with all senior classes within or outside the service area as invited.
- Assist new students with the enrollment process and career options.
- Accommodate tour groups on campus.
- Attend career programs or other special events in area.
- Advise prospective and existing students during registration, enrollment periods, and throughout the year.
- Coordinate special projects.
- Serve on college committees.
- Participate in Orientation to College as an ORI 101 Instructor.
- Adhere to flexible work schedule.
- Assume other professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of Student Development.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Experience in recruiting or academic advising at the postsecondary level is required.
- Ability to speak to large audiences is required.
