JOB SUMMARY: The Recreation Parks Manager is responsible for the effective and proper maintenance of park property, recreation areas, facilities, and equipment. This position coordinates the usage of county park property and facilities. This position prepares and maintains the department budget and oversees the maintenance and development of all county parks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Coordinates with Recreation Board, Athletic Associations, committees, and other citizen groups on the usage of County parks and facilities;
• Coordinates with the City of Smith Station assisting with the management, maintenance and development of the County Park in Smiths Station;
• Directs inspections of facilities, parks, and equipment for maintenance needs;
• Researches and prepares bid specifications for the maintenance and the upkeep of park facilities;
• Administers contracts and agreements for parks and recreation related services and facilities;
• Prepares studies for the development of new facilities;
• Prepares and manages the budget and special projects for the parks;
• Prepares reports on department activities;
• Assists citizens and program participants with concerns and complaints;
• Responds to citizens' questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner.
• Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years’ experience, or equivalent. Possession of a valid state issued driver's license.
