Veterinary Technician -Must Love Cats and Dentistry
ARE YOU READY TO FOCUS ON WHAT YOU LOVE?
Do you enjoy dogs but also find cats magical and full mouth dental x-rays necessary? Do you enjoy the responsibility of providing high quality care? Over the last year, can you say that you felt proud, respected, acknowledged? Are you making a difference for both your patients and your team members? We think that you would really shine at Healing Paws Veterinary Care!
Our client base is fabulous as they go through an application process to be sure that they share our pet care goals before joining us and our team works together as one to get things done. We are ready to grow our practice and want that growth to be primarily in the areas of feline medicine and small animal dentistry. Our team is both Fear Free and Cat Friendly certified -we already have one full day a week dedicated to cat appointments only and are just waiting for the right technician to allow us to have more than one day a week dedicated to dentistry. You could be that person!
We believe in our team - when you join us, you will be supported and given the opportunity to learn and grow. You also will be asked to lead your team members in providing excellent care as they support you and you support them. We are problem solving and education based because clients and their pets deserve both answers and solutions that work for them. There's nothing quite like the feeling of knowing you helped a pet and a person have a better day. Really, that's why we love feline medicine and dentistry so much. Clients don't often recognize dental disease or the symptoms of feline pain and illness. We help them recognize problems and fix them - what a great thing to get to do every day!
A few of the ways a technician uses their skills at Healing Paws:
- Be an advocate for both pain and anxiety control for your patients (all team members are Fear Free and Cat Friendly certified)
- Patient admission - helping clients understand what their pet will experience and portraying the value of our services
- Patient care (from IVC placement and giving injections to laser therapy and recovery monitoring)
- Inducing, monitoring and managing pets under anesthesia
- Dental scaling, polishing, sealant application and taking full mouth dental radiographs (you will have someone monitoring anesthesia while you perform these tasks)
- Reviewing and filling prescription refill requests
- Accurately maintaining medical records and entering charges
- Taking X-rays, performing phlebotomy, reading cytologies, performing cystocentesis
- Performing in house laboratory diagnostics
- Triaging client care questions and educating clients
- Handling patients from the smallest elderly kidney kitty to the German Shepherd who comes to us because we know how to manage his pre-visit pharmaceuticals and read his body language to avoid causing him fear and stress
- Leading your assistant team in providing quality, low stress patient care
- Providing laser therapy, booster, diabetes education, and nutrition coaching appointments
Some of the rewards for working at Healing Paws Veterinary Care include:
- Happy pet owners with happy and healthy pets!
- Self-betterment and growth
- Being in a place where you're supported in your efforts to make a difference
- An emotionally-safe and inclusive place to work
- Continuing education, health benefits, uniform and shoe allowance, pet discounts, paid vacation time and so much more.

We are looking for 1-2 full time skilled and experienced technicians to join our expanding medical team. The ideal addition to our team has that magic vet med intuition, displays exceptional communication ability, shares our passion for outstanding customer service and patient care, takes pride in their work and has a thirst for knowledge and self-betterment. We utilize technology heavily and work with large dogs and tiny crunchy kitties so you'll need to be comfortable with thinking outside the box. This position requires an upbeat, caring and organized personality, a high standard of care, and the ability to be able to find joy in the small things (getting blood without a patient noticing, the satisfying sound of urine filling a cysto syringe, an excellent dental rad).
