Job Summary

Recruits top talent in the marketplace and provides career counseling as assigned.
  • Recruits top talent in the marketplace through sourcing and attending all viable job fair and/or networking events. Conducts proactive searches utilizing creative and cost-effective sourcing methods to recruit for exempt and non-exempt positions. Designs and implements targeted advertising strategies. Works closely with hiring managers in identification of appropriate candidates and manages the interview process between the candidate and client, including relaying feedback between parties & salary negotiations.
  • Establishes client (departmental unit) relationships, assess staffing needs, and develops local, regional, or national recruitment, marketing and communication strategies to attract top talent. Implements plans to source, recruits, screens, and interviews candidates and makes finalist recommendations. Provides guidance and assistance throughout recruitment cycle.
  • Builds pipelines of candidates through the establishment and utilization of relationships with community groups, centers of influence, and other candidate sources as needed. Seeks out and recommends sources of candidates including the Internet, colleges, job fairs, technical schools, etc.
  • Manages candidate information via web based Applicant Tracking System. Updates requisitions through recruitment cycle. Attains candidate information, offer letters, communications as needed works closely with Equal Opportunity Programs to ensure on-line applicant pool certification prior to finalizing placement. Closes out requisitions upon candidate hire or withdrawal of recruitment effort.
  • Coordinates the employment and training needs of applicants for the FIU Veterans Employment Program. Builds relationships with external and internal constituencies and attends veteran related job fairs to build candidate pipeline.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and one (1) year of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior HR and/or recruitment experience.
