Job Summary Assists in maintaining campus waste and recycling sites; collects and transports recyclable materials from inside and outside university buildings to enable the department to complete work efficiently. Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

Essential Functions: Assists with the solid waste and recycling programs on campus by servicing waste and recycling containers inside and outside university buildings. Operates vehicles and equipment to remove waste and collect recycling from university grounds. Removes and replaces waste and recycling containers when necessary. Performs custodial-type tasks and handles cleaning, solid waste/recycling issues. Keeps areas around dumpsters and waste and recycling sites clean and in neat order.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications Interest or experience in solid waste and recycling techniques
Salary Range $11.00/hour
Work Hours Monday-Friday
5:00AM-1:30PM or 7:30AM-4:00PM
