service contracts; prepares required
Assists in developing policies, plans and
procedures; assists in developing schedules for LRPT and PEX; receives passenger rosters from social service agencies and develops routes to
support transportation contracts; and receives and schedules phone requests for
transportation. Assists Transit Director in
dispatching buses; may investigate and resolve scheduling and other problems; investigates traffic accidents and safety violations; and drives bus to transport passengers. Monitors driver's maintenance reports and schedules
vehicles for service/maintenance; reviews pre and post trips to determine maintenance
issues; and takes vehicle to maintenance
facility for routine and scheduled maintenance. Assists with development and maintenance of filing system for documents and records
related to the management of the transit
system; assists with maintaining records for program audits; maintains vehicle records to include hard copies and computer files;
maintains statistical and cost data on vehicles for reporting; collects and maintains data
required by contracting agencies; assists in collating driver's data; assists in maintaining training records for drivers; assists in the
preparation of invoices to agencies with
reports for ALDOT and prepares accident
reports. This position's work hours are from
5:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m. Starting salary is

Experience: Bachelor's degree with courses in transportation or closely related field and.
At least, 2 years' experience in transit
experience providing the knowledge, skills and background to perform the
responsibilities of the job.
Special Requirements: Valid Alabama driver's license. Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
Willingness to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background investigation.
Willingness to submit to random drug testing as required by FTA regulations. Willingness to uphold organization's policies, including
anti-harassment policy. Willingness to travel frequently, often for overnight trips.
Willingness to work overtime, including
non-standard hours or weekends.
Willingness to provide vehicle for travel.
